Both applied and fundamental aspects of veterinary parasitology are studied.

Conventional parasitological methods (direct parasite detection, morphological classification) as well as sophisticated methods of molecular biology and biochemisty are applied depending on research objectives.

All parasite groups (helminths, arthropodes, protists) are represented in different projects. Parasites of fish, birds, pets, swine and cattle are investigated.

The main research is focused on coccidia (Toxoplasma, Eimeria, Isospora, Cryptosporidium) of livestock and companion animals.
